Pole vaulter runs naked through Paris

Romain Mesnil, 31, may have won silver at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, but the French pole vaulter gained worldwide attention last week when he took to the streets of Paris. He was naked at the time.

Mesnil was looking for a new sponsor after Nike decided not to renew their contract with him. He hoped his little stunt would help secure him a new sponsorship deal.

"In times of crisis you have to come up with a novel approach," explained Mesnil.
