AVN vs XBIZ: Clash of the titans

The two big names in the adult entertainment business, Adult Video News (AVN) and XBiz, are about to go mano-a-mano in court. XBIZ is being accused in a lawsuit of hiring a former AVN sales exec, Sara Sazzman, in order to steal company and trade secrets.

AVN editor Paul Fishbein sent out an e-mail a few weeks ago alleging Sazzman is actually going to former customers and claiming that XBiz has the same print circulation as her former employer, with cheaper advertising rates.

Fishbein countered with an audited circulation statement "which proves AVN's circulation of over 18,000 qualified B2B readers per month. During her employment with AVN, Sara herself has pointed out our audited circulation figures, compared with XBIZ and their lack of an audited circulation. I strongly urge you to ask Sara for comparative circulation data before you accept a sales pitch based on false information."

“Clearly AVN is trying to tarnish XBIZ’s reputation to stem the tide of its diminishing marketshare,” XBIZ lawyers said.
