Live porn for NY pedestrians

The Standard hotel in New York CityNew York City's Meatpacking District is packing some real action these days. The new Highline Park, built on top of a former railroad trestle, passes the Standard hotel. Guests at said establishment have been putting on a show for the new passers-by, exposing tourists to quite the exhibition through the hotel's floor-to-ceiling windows.

People have complained about men masturbating, porn shoots, and couples screwing.

"That crazy kind of behavior is completely unnecessary," complained one man.

"I've seen a few porn shoots -- three dudes walking around a hotel room with cameras and lights filming a couple," added the manager at the next-door Brass Monkey. "I've seen at least 10 different people having sex. Saturday nights are the best time for the show."

The Standard actually endorses the behavior of its patrons. According to its Facebook page, "We encourage you to exercise your inner exhibitionist. Please share your intimate, and explicit photos with us -- those floor to ceiling windows aren't just for the views . . ."

A similar note on the hotel's official website implored, "Whatever you do, just make sure the shots are HOT and that you get them to us in whichever way you can. It's all about sex all the time, and you're our star." This note was removed when the Standard was asked about it by the New York Post; the Facebook posting was also cleaned up.

Sadly, the shennanigans may end before long. City Council Speaker Christine Quinn said, "The alleged actions of The Standard are unacceptable."

The hotel has since promised to ask guests to close the curtains during their intimate moments. Highline Park patrons will just have to make do without the show.
