Gay porn used in Uganda's fight against homosexuals

Martin SsempaUgandan pastor Martin Ssempa held a press conference to push for public support of his country's anti-homosexuality bill. However, he seems to have damaged his reputation, such as it was, by showing gay porn before his presentations.

According to 'Ugandan Daily Monitor ,' a large chunk of his audience walked out during the video, not sticking around for his 'ex-gay' presentation.

"The room was decorated with colourful anti-gay posters, including one that said: 'Bahati Bill Made in Uganda for Ugandans,' reported the newspaper. "The cleric, who let his two young sons attend the press conference, said the boys were free to make their own statements against homosexuality. 'They represent those we need to protect… We are giving a red card to sodomy.'

Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni, increasingly aware how the bill is viewed by the rest of the world, has suggested amendments will be considered. Currently life imprisonment and death are still possible punishments should the legislation pass.

Did people leave because of the Ssempa's choice of video, or because he kept touching himself while watching from the back of the room?
