'Glee' creator takes shot at 'Modern Family'

Ryan Murphy attacks 'Modern Family' for lack of gay kissesRyan Murphy, the man behind prime time phenom 'Glee,' has taken a shot at another gay-friendly show. And though he wouldn't mention 'Modern Family' by name, it was obvious what program he was talking about.  He said: “I hate it on TV shows, and there’s one show that I won’t name right now, where it’s like ‘Why aren’t these character kissing? Don’t they have a child?’ That’s ridiculous to me. I don’t understand it.”

'Modern Family' has been heavily criticised for not showing more affection between the gay couple, Cam and Mitchell. The two are devoted. They have a child together. And yet they never kiss. There's even a Facebook page with over 13,500 followers called 'Let Cam & Mitchell kiss on Modern Family.'

Added Murphy: “If I did it on my show, I would just have them do it in every scene and not have a big deal about it. I don’t think that you have to announce a very special episode. Weren’t they doing it back on Roseanne? It is just so outdated and archaic to me and as a gay man, I would never do that. I would make it very organic and do it several times and not make it a stunt.”

Of course, Ryan has yet to have a gay kiss on 'Glee.' He did promise that two female characters will share a same sex kiss, but that seems equally as ridiculous. Woman on woman action isn't nearly as daring as a loving man on man, tongue down throat, smooch. Let's see him put his money where his mouth is.
