Did you hear the one about the gay electric car?

Vince Vaughn happy gay joke remaining in new movieWhen theaters started playing the trailer for 'The Dilemma,' there was a minor uproar because of a gay joke. In one scene star Vince Vaughn says “electric cars are gay”.

The joke was removed from a trailer for the film after GLAAD (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) expressed concern, but director Ron Howard says the joke will stay in the movie.

Howard explained: "It is a slight moment in 'The Dilemma' meant to demonstrate an aspect of our lead character's personality, and we never expected it to represent our intentions or the point of view of the movie or those of us who made it."

"I'm glad to hear it's staying the movie," Vaughn said on Wednesday. "It wasn't a derogatory term ... We clarified within the joke [that it was] not 'homosexual-gay' but, you know, your parents are chaperoning a dance."

South Park, known for offending everyone, would have at least made that joke funny. Something to consider, Mr. Vaughn, when making a comedy.
