Two Brazilian actors kiss in support of gay rights

Bruno Gagliasso kisses João Vicente

Openly heterosexual actors Bruno Gagliasso and João Vicente de Castro took a stand for gay rights by sharing a passionate kiss at Brazil’s GQ Men of the Year Awards in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.

Both are well known in Brazil and used the smooch to protest homophobia and the machismo culture in the country.

Gagliasso then shared an image of the kiss to Instagram, dedicating it to all the "macho card-carriers, hypocritical and prejudiced," and explaining that there was nothing wrong with one man showing "affection and love" for another man.

The actor is straight and married, but has played gay on TV. He starred as Roberto Júnior in the Brazilian soap opera América.
