Anti-gay hypocrite bites the dust

Well, well, well; the pattern of hypocritical politicians -- you know, the pro-family, anti-gay types who cheat on their spouses -- has been taken to a whole new level by  California State Assemblyman Mike Duvall.

He's a bit of a dirty bird. He likes bragging to colleagues about his sexual exploits. He's juggling at least two mistresses at the moment. And he's really into spanking. It's too bad the senator was unaware the microphone at his table was turned on when he went into great detail about his extra-marital sex life with the gentleman sitting next to him.

At one point Duvall said, 'So, I am getting into spanking her. Yeah, I like it. I like spanking her. She goes, 'I know you like spanking me.' I said, 'Yeah! Because you're such a bad girl!'"

Duvall was vice chairman of the Committee on Utilities & Commerce which oversees contracts for power supply to California; his infidelity allegedly included 36-year-old Heidi DeJong Barsuglia, a lobbyist for energy company Sempra.

"Their relationship is the worst-kept secret in Sacramento," said another lobbyist. "He's old and fat. She's hot, blonde and about 20 years younger. He could have never got a woman like that before he got this job."

The recording, made on July 8th, was leaked earlier this week to the local TV station KCAL9.

And this from a man who was vocal in his support for California's Prop 8 to prohibit gay marriages (and winning a 100% rating from right-wing Christian groups for his voting record). Because, as you know, gay marriage is bad but adultery? Not so much.

Duvall has resigned in disgrace.
