Pepsi too gay for conservatives

Old Pepsi LogoA right-wing Christian group is urging church types to boycott Pepsi because the soda pop corporation is way too good to the gays. Pepsi has given donations to gay advocacy groups, which is the reason for the uproar.

“[Terry Kemple] said the company donated more than a million dollars to organizations that fought California's gay marriage–banning Proposition 8,” reported WTSP-TV. “He also says the Pepsi Corporation has sponsored gay pride events and commercials that accept cross-dressing and homosexuality.”

10 Pepsi machines have been removed from Kemple's megachurch, the Bell Shoals Baptist Church, and replaced by Coke machines.

Nadine Smith, of Equality Florida, said the whole thing was “offensive” and “embarrassing.” She pointed out that the Coca-Cola Company was also supportive of gay rights. What's the world coming to when you can't find a homophobic soft drink maker?
