Quibi offering queer content

Quibi -- which is short for "Quick Bites" -- is the newest streaming app on the block.

It was created by Dreamworks founder Jeffrey Katzenberg. It offers short, bite-sized content over mobile devices, with all episodes coming in at 10-minutes or under. But unlike YouTube, all of the content on the site has impressively high production values.

Boasting 170 original shows, there really is something for everyone. There's a Punk’d reboot from Chance the Rapper, a Judge Judy style series with Chrissy Teigen, and a show where celebrities give out gobs and gobs of money.

Hoping to attract the LGBT crowd, there are series specifically created for the queer community or, at the very least, feature an out and proud host.

RuPaul Drag Race winner Sasha Velour takes fans behind the scenes as she prepares for her monthly live show called NightGowns. Season one of the series consists of eight episodes, each of which will focus on one of the main cast members as Velour helps them prepare for their performance.

“We’re transforming the system that doesn’t work for us. I’ve always had a vision for what NightGowns could be, where each number feels like a completely different universe,” Velour said. “We aren’t interested in the world as it is, we are interested in the world as it could be. Nothing feels more alive than NightGowns.”

GAYME SHOW

Matt Rogers and Dave Mizzoni host Gayme Show, where straight contestants compete to be crowned "Queen of the Straights."

“Dave and I are thrilled to bring Gayme Show to Quibi after performing it as a live show for the past couple years,” said Rogers.

Mizzoni added: “We’re thrilled to showcase how the energy and comedy of our live show is translated to and even enhanced by this new format.”
