BG (and 51 others) win Cybersocket Web Awards!

After 5 consecutive years of being nominated for the Cybersocket Web Awards, BananaGuide this year won the Industry Choice Award for Best Free Adult Site. Trevor and Steve were thrilled to make the cut this year, hence avoiding the fate of being labelled the Susan Lucci's of gay porn.

("All My Children" star Lucci became infamous over the years as she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series 18 times before finally winning in 1999.)

The awards, hosted by Chi Chi  La Rue, were held on January 5 at Gipsy nightclub in Las Vegas. A total of 52 trophies were awarded, 31 in the "Surfers' Choice" group (voted in by surfers) and  21 in the "Industry Choice" group (voted in by a panel of gay Internet industry leaders).

Assisted by three studly Corbin Fisher models, Chi Chi efficiently and humorously read off the nominees and winners in each of the 52 categories. Two of the ongoing jokes of the evening were the number of winners who failed to show up to claim their award and the inaudible speeches of those that did.

Some of the Surfers' Choice winners of note: Randy Blue (Adult Gay Megasite); Circle Jerk Boys (Amateur Video Site); GayPornBlog (Blog Site);  Men At Play (Specialty Adult Pay Site); and Naked Sword (VOD Site).

Among the "Industry Choice” winners were: Corbin Fisher (Adult Gay Megasite); Straight Boys Fucking (Amateur Video Site); Maleflixxx (VOD site); and Lavender Lounge (Blog Site).
