Neil Patrick Harris' (very early) Christmas treat

Neil Patrick Harris is back on the big screen, appearing in the latest Harold and Kumar movie, which opens this weekend. And Harris brought his fiance David Burtka along for the ride.

In A Very Harold & Kumar 3-D Christmas, Harris plays a pot smoking, womanizing version of himself (a roll he made famous in the two earlier movies of the franchise).

“The H & K stuff brought a kind of hip-ness quotient to how people perceived me, I think,” he said. “It seemed like before then, I was doing more mainstream kind of all-American guy.”

Burtka has a small cameo in the film. Harris admitted it was odd working together. 

"We don't really act together," Harris said. "We just live together and we certainly exist together, like all the time, but acting... it was weird, because we just exist on a different level."

"I'm very proud of him and I think he came across very well in the movie," he added. "He's a funny guy."
