Terrible coach fired, will remain school counselor

Pat LynchPat Lynch, the football coach of Buffalo High School in Wyoming, was forced to resign this week after demanding players fill out and sign the "Hurt Feelings Report." Some of the attributes students had to choose from included: "I am a pussy," "I am a queer," and "I am a little bitch."

Lynch sent a letter to the school board, saying, "I would like to apologize for my lack of judgment and the poor choice that I made from my position as head football coach for Buffalo High School. I know that this situation has caused you pain and discomfort, and for that I am truly sorry. As a person and a professional, I believe I will learn and grow from this experience and use it to help others."

The board accepted the resignation, but allowed Lynch to stay on as the school's guidance counselor.

"None of us are happy that it happened. It's a black eye to the district. And it's a black eye to Pat," said superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler. “The coaching, we didn’t want that to be the issue anymore. We wanted him to have his priority back where it was as a counselor."

Because he sounds like the kind of guy kids feel comfortable opening up to ...

Kessler added that the board will revisit Lynch's contract at the end of the year. “He made a bad mistake and he’s paid for it, and he’s got an uphill battle to work with right now,” Kessler said. “He’s got our support, and we’re going to try and make it."

Seriously, people need to take a closer look at who they elect to the school boards.

You can see the "Hurt Feelings Report" after the jump ...
