Gay porn actor to be discharged from military

Patrick Hunter aka Andrew Koch

Even though Don't Ask, Don't Tell has ended in the US military, appearing in adult movies is still a big no no. And now one actor is facing a possible discharge from the U.S. Navy ROTC program because of his work in gay porn.

Midshipman Andrew Koch, better known in porn circles as Patrick Hunter, had his conduct reviewed by the Personnel Review Board (PRB), which unanimously determined that Koch’s pornography shoots were “inconsistent with good order and discipline,” and “inconsistent with what the Navy deems morally acceptable.”

If discharged, Koch may be expected to pay back tuition support he had received from the military. This could total nearly $26,000.

Koch is hoping to remain the ROTC program and has appealed the decision. He said he “never meant to disrespect the Navy, never appeared in uniform, and never associated his private work in pornography with the Navy in any way.” He added that “morality is a very subjective idea,” and that his conduct “would not make me any less of a capable officer.”

SFGN publisher Norm Kent, a first amendment and civil rights attorney, has agreed to undertake a pro bono appeal of Koch’s proposed discharge.
